UK Box Office Predictions: Double Weekend Takings For Jumanji Guarantees UK Box Office Win

UK box office predictions w/c 2nd December: How did we do?

We were robbed! In an unexpected twist, it seems that Jumanji: The Next Level’s UK box office takings were excluded from the weekend’s results, as the release is being treated as an early preview. While this has thrown off most of our predictions, we still (amazingly) managed to correctly call Frozen II in first place, and Motherless Brooklyn in eighth.

Check out our past UK box office predictions.

What’s happening at the UK Box Office this week?

With Jumanji: The Next Level having the unprecedented advantage of having two weekend’s takings combined into one, we’re 100% certain that it will beat Frozen II and take the top spot. Especially since reviews have been favourable, with the Daily Mail saying that the the film is ‘just the ticket for a family outing this Christmas’.

The only other notable wide release is festive slasher Black Christmas, which we don’t expect to make too much of an impact. Despite the seasonal theme, reviews have been lukewarm. Empire describe it as ‘a feminist horror flick that lacks nuance in its feminism and thrills in its horror’.
