UK Box Office Predictions: Will The Aeronauts Fly To The Top?

UK box office predictions w/c 28th October: How did we do?

Last week we said that Halloween ‘could give films with spooky, horrific or fantastical themes a boost’. We didn’t know how right we were, as The Addams Family surged back up the chart to second place, and Maleficent stayed third.

We’d assumed that the Halloween effect would also see Doctor Sleep appear top of the charts, but we were way off the mark here, as it appeared in a disappointing fourth place.  We’d also assumed that Terminator: Dark Fate would slip to third, but it actually fell all the way down to fifth which doesn’t bode well for the action franchise!

That means that once again, Joker stayed top of the charts!

Check out our past UK box office predictions.

What’s happening at the UK Box Office this week?

The Aeronauts will be appearing on UK screens this weekend on over 300 screens along with Midway and The Good Liar

While it seems that nothing can deflate the Joker, The Aeronauts has received strong reviews. The Metro said that ‘breathtaking balloon heroics make this movie one you need to catch on the big screen’. Could this week finally be the week that the Joker falls from the top spot?

Reviews aren’t out yet for The Good Liar, but the combination of big British names Ian McKellan and Helen Mirren could see this thriller sneak into the top five!

We don’t expect World War Two flick Midway to trouble the top of the charts as reviews have been pretty scathing. The Guardian described the film as ‘a long, loud and tedious history lesson’.
